Communication

Communication between home and school is vital in maintaining the strong partnerships. There are several ways in which we provide opportunities to foster this relationship.

Newsletter

Each week the school newsletter is distributed via email and on our school App, and is also available via our school website. The newsletter provides a regular update on what has been happening in our community, as well as providing forward planning for upcoming events.

School Stream App

Our School Stream App allows staff to connect with families with updates on classroom activities and special events. The App also allows families to submit absence notices, grant permission for excursions, etc. and to receive the school newsletter.

Facebook

Our School Facebook page provides an opportunity to promote our school to the local and broader community. In most cases, it is a celebration of the people and events in our school community. In this way, we are also able to celebrate and promote key school events with family members who live outside the local area.

Parents & Friends

We are fortunate to have an energetic and visible P&F group at Our Lady of Lourdes, playing a significant role in building our school community. This dedicated committee offers many opportunities for parents to get involved, providing opportunities for families and staff to connect in a spirit of fun and friendship. They organise a variety of events, including the school disco, the annual Bunnings BBQ fundraiser, Easter and Christmas raffles, and many other activities that benefit our students and enhance the school experience.

Parents Volunteering

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to assist in any way that they are able. Parents wishing to help in the classroom Literacy programs are invited to participate in the training sessions run at the school so that you can work in the classroom. In keeping with the State Government's regulations all people working in our school in any capacity require a 'Working with Children Check'. Please ask at the school's office for further information.

School Advisory Council

Our Lady of Lourdes School Council acts as an advisory body to the parish priest and principal on matters concerning the development of the school and the education and wellbeing of the students. The SAC meets once every term.
